Counter ticket online cancellation and refund rules : काउंटर टिकट ऑनलाइन रद्द करने के नियम

Its my personal experience , I lost my money due to lack of cancellation knowledge.

here is step u can save your money :

Step no.1 : Cancel Ticket before 4 hours  the train departure.

Step no.2 : Go to the nearby station before train departure.

Step no.3 : fill the cancellation form at counter and u get your refund amount as per IRCTC rules.

below are the step of IRCTC , how to cancel counter train ticket online :

1. This can only be applicable if a valid mobile number is given at the time of booking.

2. Can be allowed to cancel PRS counter ticket and refund the fare only under normal circumstances. It cannot be canceled if the trains are late or the train is canceled.

3. A fully confirmed ticket can be canceled up to 4 hours before the train departure.

4. If the ticket is in the RAC or Venting List, the online cancellation will be up to 30 minutes before the train departure.

To cancel the counter ticket online, visit this link (https://www.operations.irctc.co.in/ctcan/SystemTktCanLogin.jsf). Here after filling your PNR number, train number and captcha option, tick the box containing cancellation rules. Then click on the submit button. Now OTP will come on the number you gave on the form at the time of booking. After entering OTP, click on submit.
