CM PUNK MAKES UFC DEBUT IN SEPTEMBER
“The instant I got cleared I got on the horn with (UFC President Dana White) and we nailed everything down so I will be debuting September 10 in Cleveland,” Brooks said. “I’m super excited. For obviously a myriad of reasons. There’s a light at the end of the tunnel.”
Gall was featured on an episode of White’s “Lookin’ for a Fight” web series, where he won a fight on the regional scene and immediately called out Brooks to the UFC president. He was given the chance to earn his shot at the popular but untested former pro wrestler when he faced Mike Jackson at UFC Fight Night 82. He won the bout with a rear-naked choke in just 45 seconds.
Brooks signed with the UFC in December 2014 but has been forced to delay his debut due to injury on multiple occasions.
